Tucked away behind a row of arborvitae on a corner lot in Midland Park is a small, unassuming house. Unassuming that is, until you stop to take it all in. The wraparound wooden deck, the front door painted a bold orange, the striking antique lamppost and the sculptures peacefully nestled in the bushes by the front steps are enticing. At first it all seems out of place on this quiet, suburban street. But walk through that seemingly out of place front door, and it all makes perfect sense. An artist lives here. Her name is Jeanne Jaicks Wheaton.
